“Sacrificio de mujer” [A Woman’s Sacrifice] is a confabulated story of hope, deceit, perseverance and despair; but love prevails through it all. In the past, Clemencia (Majorie de Sousa) is helped by Luis Francisco Vilarte (Juan Alfonso Baptista), a mischievous young man with who she falls in love and loses her innocence. This man, the bastard son of wealthy businessman, travels to Europe to inherit a fortune from his father, leaving behind Clemencia, who abandoned facing the cruel fact that she is pregnant. What they both don’t know, neither Clemencia nor Luis Francisco, is that all of this was the malicious undertaking of Amada (Flor Nunez), his malevolent mother, who forged misunderstandings and slander in order to separate the two. As the result, Clemencia wanders in dismay and hunger, until one day she awakes in a hospital, without her baby and with a blighted womb. Augusto Talamonti (Luis Jose Santander), a young doctor who tends to her medical needs, is the one who delivers the bad news to her. But he is also the one who offers her protection and support, without which Clemencia could not have survived. Twenty years later, Clemencia, now married to the doctor and with three adoptive children, has been able to multiply the fortune Augusto was unwilling to tend, and hires Milagros (Mariana Torres) as an employee of her company. Milagros, who grew up in an orphanage and lives with the despair of growing up without a mother, gets hooked on a wave of admiration for the boss, but, more so, falls hopelessly in love with her adopted son, Enzo (Pablo Azar). Meanwhile, Luis Francisco, having gone through all the resources he received in Europe, returns to demand more of his late father’s money, and encounters his brother, the legitimate heir to the fortune, and his wife, who is no other than Clemencia.
The taping of “Sacrificio de mujer” [A Woman’s Sacrifice] is taking place throughout the city of Miami, Florida (USA), explained Dulce Teran, General Producer of the telenovela, “where 70 percent of the novela is produced on location and exteriors. We are taping at two mansions located in South Miami, among beautiful buildings in Brickell, which borders the coastline, and at local beaches and parks, as well as the hottest restaurants, nightclubs and discos of the area. In addition, in our studios, we have built the most modern and luxurious offices and facilities, home to Empresas Talamonti [Talamonti Enterprises].”
“Sacrificio de mujer” [A Woman’s Sacrifice] is an example of the company’s strategy to considerably increase its production of television programming and it’s aligned with “our commitment to fortify our presence in the Latin American market and demonstrate, once again, our grand capability as a leader in the telenovela genre,” emphasized Peter Tinoco, President & CEO of Venevision Productions and Executive Producer of the novela. Venevision Productions has invested vast resources in improvements of its infrastructure and production equipment, integrating high definition technology. Tinoco also revealed the title of the telenovela’s theme song: “Siento,” interpreted by the Puerto Rican Pop superstar Chayanne, who lent production one of the tracks of his most recent album, titled “No hay imposibles” [There Are No Impossibles].
